It is possible. Anything is possible, I guess. But after knitting this cardigan in Louet's Euroflax linen (100% wet-spun linen, sport weight), I've decided that at the very least I have a major crush on this yarn. And at worst, I might end up living in my car next to the mill. Yes, it's looking a little bit like that. I wonder where I put my passport...Canada, hmmm. My husband and kids would miss me, of course, which will probably help keep me away from the abyss of this addiction, but really...I'm in love with this yarn.
I knit a terrific skirt out of the same Euroflax last year, though in a different color. I wear it often, and love how it looks, feels and washes. I probably gushed about it at the time. The body of the skirt is stockinette with a simple lace border at the hem. It's useful, fun and great for warm days. It was a satisfying project. This cardigan, though, is really making me ridiculously happy. And to my surprise, I actually know the reason why. It's garter stitch. Well, there is a bit of lace at the bottom, but mainly it's just garter stitch. And I loved every stitch of it. There is something about the combination of linen and garter stitch, knit at a loose gauge, that works for me. It flowed off my needles. I adore this cardigan. I want to make more of them. One in every color. One for every woman I know. Here I go...merrily on my way to living in my car next to the mill.
